I’ve just released a new sound piece called Veil. I hope you’ll give it a listen.
Veil was created from field recordings I made while traveling through Indonesia, capturing sounds from the ancient ruins of Borobudur and the historic courtyards of a Majapahit hotel. I layered ambient textures, piano, and various spontaneous sound elements to create the piece.
It drifts between things that have shape and things that are vague and elusive.
It might reveal something new if you listen quietly and closely.
I’d be happy if you could gently fill in the spaces with your own senses.

Veil は、インドネシアを旅する中で録音したフィールドレコーディングから生まれた作品です。古代遺跡ボロブドゥールや歴史あるマジャパヒトホテルの中庭で記録した音に、アンビエントな質感やピアノ、そして偶発的に現れるさまざまな音の要素を重ねています。
形のあるものと、曖昧でとらえどころのないもの。そのあいだを行き来するように漂うサウンドです。
ただ耳に届く音としてではなく、静かに耳を傾けることで、見えてくるものがあるかもしれません。
その余白を、あなた自身の感覚でそっと感じ取ってもらえたら嬉しいです。
